About Our Church

Come VisitDonate

The very first word of our mission statement says it all. We desire to reach out to those in our community who don’t know Christ, not just sit and wait for the community to come to us. And once we have reached the disconnected, we desire to help them grow in faith and spiritual maturity so that they may join us in carrying out our mission.

We do this in three ways: Seeking, sharing and serving.

Our Beliefs & Values

The Cross Church strives to build a strong community church, whose goals are to spread the LOVE of Jesus Christ, LIVE by the scripture set forth in the HOLY BIBLE and LEAD the children of God to his undeniable grace and mercy.

Inerrancy and completeness of Scripture

We believe that the scriptures are true, authoritative and sufficient. The Scriptures are our authority for faith and practice.

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Psalm 19:7-11

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

 2 Timothy 3:16

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 1:20-21

The Trinity Existence of God

There is only one God.  God exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

Deuteronomy 6:4

I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Isaiah 45:5-6

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Isaiah 46:9-10

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 17:3

As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

1  Corinthians 8: 4-6

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1 Timothy 2:5

The Sinfulness of Man

All humanity (Christ excluded), by birth and action are sinful.

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Genesis 6:5

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Psalm 51:5

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Jeremiah 17:9

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:23

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:12-21

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Romans 7:18

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 2:1-3

God’s Judgment of Man for Sin

The deserved penalty for sin is death, both physical and spiritual.

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die

Genesis 2:15-17

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Genesis 3:19

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 5:12

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

James 1:14-15

The Deity of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human.

Mathew 1:120

Luke 2:52

John 1: 1-4, 14

Colossians 1:15-20

Hebrews 1:1-3

The Substitutional Death of Jesus

Jesus Christ died as our substitute to pay the penalty for our sin. (John 1:29; 10: 1-8; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4, 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galations 1:4; 1 Peter 3:18).

The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ to Earth

Jesus Christ physically ascended into heaven and will one day physically return. (John 14:3, Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Hebrews 9:28, 1 John 3:2; Revelation 1:7).

Salvation By Faith Alone Through Grace Alone

Only by trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone can one be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy. (John 3:18, 14:6, Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-26; 1 Timothy 2: 5-6).

We are proudly connected with Southern Baptist Association and the Beulah Baptist Association.

Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place. Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”
